Two Point Perspective and Unity Lesson
In this lesson, students will continue working with the concept of perspective and now study two point perspective while demonstrating the art principle: unity. Students will look at the artworks of Gustave Caillebotte Paris Street, Rainy Day(1877), Canaletto View of the St. Mark’s Basin(1738), and Edward Hopper Lighthouse At Two Lights (1929) , continuing to see and spot perspective by acknowledging the vanishing points, horizon line, and perspective lines within each artwork, and why two point perspective is vital in architecture and design. For the project, students will create a two point perspective drawing of a unified designed treehouse taking into consideration how to properly draw the treehouse as well as themed elements within and around the treehouse. The project is worth 100 points.

One Point Perspective and Space Lesson
In this lesson, students will be introduced to the concept of perspective and more specifically, study one point perspective while working with the art element: space. Students will look at the artworks of Giorgio de Chirico The Enigma of a Day(1914), Gustave Caillebotte Le Pont de L-Europe (1876), and Vincent Van Gogh Bedroom in Arles (1888) , discovering how each artist showed depth and distance within each artwork by working with one point perspective. For the project, students will create a one point perspective drawing and watercolor painting of a cityscape from a worm’s eye view while also generating blended colors in the background. The project is worth 100 points.
